Mens Boot Designer

Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike. 

Tecovas is looking for a Mens Designer to design men’s footwear. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Footwear, you will design Western, Work, Lifestyle and other categories of Men’s Footwear.

This position is based out of Austin, TX but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.

What you’ll do:

• Working from Seasonal Briefs, partner with the Product Management Team to Design Products within our GTM (Go To Market) Process.
• Choose Materials for Seasonal Projects, aligning with the Brands Guardrails.
• Create Seasonal Color Stories
• Present your designs and Color Stories at key Milestones.
• Hand sketch and/or render with precision and clarity
• Work closely with Developers and Commercializers to assure Product is implemented properly.
• Visit Material EXPOS

Experience we’re looking for:

• Industry Knowledge of Materials and Constructions: Must know shoe constructions and material nomenclature.
• Familiarity with Adobe and other Design Software is nice, but not necessary. 
• Bonus points for familiarity with Making footwear in Mexico.

Each pair of Tecovas boots is crafted by hand in over 200 steps. It’s not the easiest or cheapest method, but we’re committed to classic construction techniques that stand the test of time.
