Tecovas is looking for a Merchandise Planner, Retail Planning & Allocation to support the Planning and Allocation Team in the analysis of the retail business, the allocation of inventory to our stores, and to assist and influence the preparation of merchandise plans to support our rapidly growing store count and product categories.  Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Planning, you will be a key contributor in crafting and executing our retail growth strategy. 

This position is based out of Austin, TX, but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the in-season management of the assortment including: sku forecasting, sku productivity analysis, and product/store review and analysis to drive sales and profitability while mitigating risks.
  • Establish, maintain, and evolve categorical store assortment clusters based on performance, planned revenue, and capacity. 
  • Manage allocation and adjust allocation strategies in-season where needed and provide appropriate and timely direction in order to react to business needs.  
  • Support milestone meetings by providing assessments of sales and inventory that result in actions to support the business.
  • Lead the development of future forecasts based on analysis of sales performance and ideal stock levels for key categories and classifications.
  • Rationalize plans through bottoms-up and tops-down analysis.
  • Collaborate with Merchandise Planning, Product, and Visual in developing tailored product assortments that support sales trends/plans in each store including assortment framework and product flow.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data, along with test-and-learn methodology, to continue to improve performance.
  • Identify where new process improvements may be needed.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years as a Retail Merchandise Planner with experience in footwear and/or apparel and a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to dive-deep into large amounts of data and distill “the nuggets.”
  • Extremely proficient in Excel.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to change and new processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across several cross functional teams and influence without title.
