Job Responsibilities:
  • Promote and protect patient health through prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy in alignment with the NY State Nurse Practice Act, UHS policies, ANA Standards, and patient rights.

  • Foster a caring, healing environment that supports patient‐centered care for individuals and families.

  • Coordinate clinical training, orientation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical staff, ensuring completion of required competencies at hire and annually.

  • Collaborate with unit coordinators to manage clinical schedules and ensure appropriate staffing and support.

  • Provide clinical leadership by overseeing the scope of practice for LPNs and Medical Assistants within the outpatient setting.

  • Triage and assess patients promptly to identify early signs of complications and initiate timely interventions.

  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease management, and available resources.

  • Safely administer medications following UHS policies, maintaining strong pharmacological knowledge.

  • Maintain CLIA Waived Lab compliance, perform testing, and oversee proficiency validation, including lab quality controls and credentialing.

  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and ongoing staff education to support quality patient care and operational excellence.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.

  • At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.

  • Current NY State RN license.

  • Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
  • The office is air conditioned as well as heated.
  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • Fast‐paced environment including frequent interruptions.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.
  • Possibility of lifting of patients.
  • Mobility may include access through a multi‐level facility, including climbing stairs.
  • PPE‐ Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.
