Telemetry MedSurg Specialty Nurse

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
• Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

• Current NYS RN License

Preferred:

• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
• Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

• Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.
• Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
• Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies

• All Age Groups

• Level 3: Clinical ‐ Access to non‐restricted patient information

About the Role: United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Telemetry Staff Registered Nurse, to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. Schedule: 12‐hour shifts; 7AM‐7PM or 7PM‐7AM days and nights, every 3rd weekend

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monitoring vital signs and responding when necessary
• Patient assessment and examination
• Administering medications and interventions provided by Physician
• Monitoring patient progress and condition

Qualifications:

• A valid RN license
• 1‐year bedside nursing experience
• ACLS preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Previous experience in med surg preferred
