Role Overview
The PMO Manager is responsible for leading the strategic and operational direction of the Project Management Office. This role ensures that project management standards, methodologies, and best practices are consistently applied across the organization to drive successful project execution and alignment with business objectives.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the project portfolio, managing PMO staff, establishing governance frameworks, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The PMO Manager collaborates closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to prioritize initiatives, allocate resources, and monitor performance metrics.
This role also plays a critical part in mentoring project managers, refining project processes, and driving continuous improvement across the organization’s project landscape.
Role Responsibilities
• Establish Project Standards:Define and maintain consistent project management methodologies, policies, and best practices across the organization to drive efficiency and alignment.
• Portfolio & Team Leadership:Oversee the PMO team and manage the full project portfolio, ensuring optimal resource allocation and delivery of strategic initiatives.
• Governance & Risk Management:Lead project governance processes including risk assessment, dependency tracking, and change control to ensure project integrity and accountability.
• Performance & Metrics:Monitor project progress, track key deliverables, and evaluate success against defined KPIs to ensure outcomes meet business expectations.
• Executive Reporting & Strategic Alignment:Deliver regular updates to senior leadership on portfolio status, ensuring projects remain aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
• Mentorship & Capability Building:Coach and support project managers, fostering continuous improvement and adherence to proven methodologies.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner with department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects that support business growth and transformation.
• Project Planning & Execution:Lead project planning efforts, including timeline development, task prioritization, and team assignments to ensure timely and effective delivery.
• Financial Oversight:Analyze project budgets, assess financial risks, and manage resource allocation to maintain fiscal responsibility.
• Operational Excellence:Ensure project teams execute efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
• Policy Development:Draft and refine PMO policies and procedures to support evolving business needs and improve operational effectiveness.
• Continuous Evaluation:Assess project performance regularly to ensure alignment with company standards, budget constraints, and deadlines.
• Documentation & Transparency:Maintain comprehensive documentation of project scope, development, execution, budget, and strategic justification.
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degreein Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field (required)
• Master’s degreein Business or a related discipline (preferred)
• Certifications(highly valued):
• PMP (Project Management Professional)
• PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner)
• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
• Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)

• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration
Technical Proficiency
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, Trello)
• Familiarity with HRIS, LMS, and financial reporting systems
• Data analysis and performance tracking using dashboards and KPIs
Process Improvement
• Experience in developing and refining PMO policies and procedures
• Knowledge of Lean, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Financial Acumen
• Budget planning and financial forecasting

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $145,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
