Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Project Architect, we'll count on you to:
  • Lead a multi-discipline team in the performance of sustainable design, layout, and detailing on architectural projects.
  • Independently coordinate work of a multi-discipline team through multiple phases of a project.
  • Manage owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for compliance requirements for projects.
  • Conduct work sessions/coordination meetings at project site in conjunction with project managers and other associated disciplines.
  • Coordinate assignments of team members through multiple phases to complete documents on schedule.
  • Review and coordinate architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
  • Perform QA/QC and technical reviews.
  • Develop and edit architectural specifications and code summaries.
  • Coordinate and assist during construction administration including, but not limited, to the following: addendums, CPR's, RFI's, submittal reviews, and change orders. Incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents.
  • Lead projects in a dual management role, as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as needed. Some travel may be required.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program required.
  • Registered/Licensed Architect with the ability to acquire NCARB certification.
  • 5+ years of total experience with at least 2+ years as a registered architect.
  • Due to client contract requirements, only candidates with US citizenship will be considered for this position, as permitted pursuant to section 274B(a)(2)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
  • Proficient with multiple software programs, including, but not limited to: Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Excellent writing, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in preparation and production of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Solid knowledge of industry codes and demonstrated planning skills.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Project experience in the following categories considered a plus: healthcare, commercial, education/science, advanced technologies, institutional, civic/justice and/or government.
  • Experience in sustainable design / LEED projects.
  • Experience with BIM360, Cove.Tool, Photoshop, Illustrator, Enscape, Rhino and/or other related software.
  • Preference given to local Texas candidates.
