Job Description

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role

Our Finance & Risk team do the mahi with the numbers - but it helps empower us to put our energy where it matters. In this fixed term contract to 30 May 2025, as Senior Accounts Administrator you’ll join our Payment Services team (a fun, tight-knit crew who banter as hard as they work) to get stuck into accounts payable, bank account reconciliation, corporate accounts receivable, and expense management services, juggling deadlines and processes to make sure our payments go out on time and incoming payments are all ka pai.

Day-to-day, you’ll process invoices into SAP and manage their workflow through to payment, maintain automatic payments and perpetual invoice payments, keep on top of the Payment Services inboxes, look after foreign currency invoices, prepare payment runs (working with vendors and internal buyers to resolve any queries), help manage expenses, and contribute to the month-end process through preparation of journals and balance sheet reconciliations and timely closure of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable sub-ledgers.

Often the first point of contact for people with payment queries, this role would be perfect for somebody who thrives in the customer space, has great initiative and loves going above and beyond. We’re a big, complex business, so there’s always lots to do, lots to learn, and heaps of awesome people to connect with and help.

That person in the office others describe as a superstar, you’re a machine with admin, awesome with customers, constantly thinking ahead and the type to offer a hand when you see something that needs doing. You bring great energy to work, the type that makes people feel valued and shines in all that you do, and you’re a pro at multitasking, comfortable juggling priorities and working to deadlines. If something doesn’t go to plan, you’re quick to change tact and come up with a plan B, taking care to keep relevant people in the loop. In fact, you do that with everything – communication is one of your strong points.

You’ll need to manage expenses and invoices using our SAP accounting system, so experience doing this would be awesome, but not a deal-breaker – we’re happy to train you, although you will need to come with an understanding of accounting principles and experience using some type of accounting system.

Above all, you’re a team player, someone who takes great pride in their mahi and helps make work a fun place to be.

Additional Information

This is a fixed-term contract role that could be based anywhere in New Zealand. Most of the Payment Services team are based in Wellington and work 1-3 days a week in our office there (the rest at home), so that would be the place to be if you enjoy regular in-person team time, however this role can be fully remote, and we’re open to applications from all over Aotearoa.
