The Senior IT Network Operations Specialist will be responsible for monitoring maintaining and optimizing enterprise network operations to ensure high availability and performance. This role requires strong expertise in network troubleshooting proactive monitoring and operational support for switching routing and/or firewall technologies. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network issues and maintain a secure and reliable infrastructure.
In this role you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers) where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
Monitor network performance and availability using advanced tools and dashboards.
- Perform Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Manage and maintain Switching/Routing OR Firewall configurations and policies.
- Respond to network incidents perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and operational best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams for network upgrades and changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and operational procedures.
- Provide on-call support for critical network incidents.
- +5 years of experience in network operations or network engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of Switching/Routing OR Firewall technologies (Cisco Palo Alto Fortinet etc.).
- CCNA certification (or higher e.g. CCNP).
- Proven experience in Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting using tools like SolarWinds Nagios or similar.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP VLANs VPNs routing protocols (BGP OSPF) and network security principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle critical incidents effectively.
- English C1
- Advanced certifications (CCNP CCIE or equivalent).
- Experience with network automation and scripting (Python Ansible).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN and cloud networking (AWS Azure GCP).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and incident management frameworks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
