Job Description

Job Role: Senior Network Administrator

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid Mode) 

Experience Range: 10+ Years 

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support our network operations and manage day-to-day changes in our network environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Fortinet Firewall, Forti Switches, and Forti WAP, along with a strong background in routing, switching, and network security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily network operations and implement changes in the network environment.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet Firewalls, Forti Switches, and Forti WAP.
• Maintain expert knowledge of routers, firewalls, and switching systems.
• Troubleshoot issues with firewall and traffic crossing the firewall (DMZ), with proficiency in routing protocols such as OSPF.
• Stay abreast of Telecommunications Industry knowledge, Internet Concepts, Network Technical Support, Networking Concepts, Internet Fundamentals, VOIP, IP routing and Switching, LAN/WAN, and TCP/IP Administration.
• Plan and perform device backups, updates, upgrades, patching, vulnerability remediation, and planned changes to maintain a secure and up-to-date network environment.
• Drive severe or crisis incidents confidently and coordinate with vendors/OEMs for smooth resolution.
• Create and maintain documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to address critical network incidents and minimize downtime.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex network issues.
• Show awareness of Service Management concepts, including Monitoring/Ticketing tools and SR/IM/PM/CM.
• Exhibit attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying network issues.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Routing Protocols: OSPF, BGP.
• Experience with LAN Switching, WAN, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
• Knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and Quality of Service.
• Understanding of application protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, etc.
• Expertise in Network Security and Data Center Architecture (Network, Server, Storage).

Qualifications

• Strong communication and escalation handling skills to effectively interact with customers and stakeholders.
• Excellent knowledge of interpreting, preparing, and modifying HLD/LLDs Network Diagrams.
• Extensive experience in routing, switching, and firewall management.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in maintaining enterprise data networks.
• Experience with network security concepts, including firewall policies, intrusion detection, and threat prevention.
• Ability to troubleshoot network performance issues related to connectivity, bandwidth, and latency.
• Experience with Fortinet products is highly desirable.

• Hands-on experience with Forti Switches, Forti WAP, and Fortinet Firewall.
• Capability to drive severe or crisis incidents and coordinate with vendors/OEMs for smooth resolution.
