As a senior product manager, you will be using modern product management tools & techniques to identify our clients' problems and collaborate with product & engineering stakeholders across FactSet to build a technology first service solution. Additionally, you will need to work with marketing to design and implement a Go-To-Market plan for the service. With the continued allocation increases to private capital and the importance of capturing the correct data you will be a key team member & making a significant contribution to FactSet's overall product offering.
The Buy-Side business unit at FactSet is responsible for developing and marketing industry-leading tools for our buy-side client base which includes Investment Managers, Asset Owners, Insurance Companies and Hedge Funds. As an organization we are responsible for building solutions that support portfolio management & construction, quantitative research, risk, performance & attribution, and execution management across the investment lifecycle. The Middle Office Portfolio Analytics product management team manages FactSet's industry leading portfolio analytics platform which is the backbone of FactSet's middle office offering. Portfolio Analytics is a market leading product for on and off-platform performance, attribution, ESG, risk and exposures reporting & analysis. The team's goal is to deliver scalable multi asset class solutions to address our clients biggest pain points.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Product Manager will be the point person internally and externally for clients' private capital data collection including cashflows, valuations and portfolio company transparency. You will be responsible for building FactSet's Private Capital Data Aggregation Service including developing product, establishing standard operating procedures building out the team, developing a training plan and launching the service. In this role you will need to operate with a business mindset to help grow FactSet's Asset Owner, Insurance, OCIO and Investment Consultant client base.
The service will be responsible for all aspects of data collection including documentation acquisition, data extraction, quality assurance and customer support. In this role we want to ensure the problem is being approached with a technology first mindset allowing for future scalability. You will be responsible for scaling this service across all private capital asset classes including private equity, private debt, direct investments, real estate, real asset, and infrastructure. This role will require a balanced knowledge of private capital statement analysis and launching a client facing services offering. In this role you will need to be comfortable presenting in front of clients and helping build the FactSet brand in relation to private capital analytics. Close collaboration with the private capital analytics team, data integration and risk product management teams will be critical in ensuring the service is empowering our clients' workflows.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree- accounting, finance, business or economics desired
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in private capital at an Asset Owner, OCIO, Consultant, or financial technology firm
- Experience dealing with private capital LP documents and capturing relevant data that will support client workflows, including Portfolio company transparency from performance reports, valuation & cashflow data from capital account statements, call & distribution notices
- Aptitude for or experience designing, launching or leading service lines of business
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including working directly with clients
NICE TO HAVE:
- Prior experience in product management is a desirable, but not required
- Understanding of the private markets/alternative asset investment lifecycle from manager due diligence to investment monitoring and analytics & reporting
- Ability to work as part of a global, distributed organization
- Progress towards CFA, CAIA or MBA is a desirable, but not required
- Experience using JIRA or other agile development tools

The budgeted amount range for this position in the States of Connecticut, Colorado and in New York City is $108,000 - $145,000
