Senior Structural Analysis Engineer

REGENT is building the seaglider; the first electric flying machine that will transport commercial passengers. With a vehicle that never flies higher than a few meters off the water, we unlock the ability to fly twice as far as an electric aircraft, and certification by maritime authorities which will let us fly first passengers by mid-decade.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will contribute to the development of the Seaglider by creating and interrogating finite element models of the all-composites vehicle structure, including the hull, hydrofoils, wing and tail. 
• The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and composite structures, along with a passion for designing and developing cutting-edge technology. 
• This role may evolve into a leadership role and progress to support future product development. Travel will be required. 

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Marine Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years performing structural analysis in the automotive, marine or aerospace industry
• Expert user of FEMAP/NX Nastran
• Experience analyzing composite structures
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Masters’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering and/or 10+ years relevant work experience 
• Skilled in VBA and FEMAP’s API
• Strong experience constructing and maintaining large Finite Element models 
• Experiences in evaluating and qualifying composite material systems 
• Experience with non-linear static structural analysis 
• Experience with dynamic structural analysis 
• Experience with Siemens NX CAD
• Strong knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques 
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics and aerodynamics principles 
• Working knowledge of FAA Part 23/25 or maritime certification requirements
