JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, ensure proper warehouse slotting of all items inventoried to improve selection productivity, replenishment efficiency, and safety. Use Cubitron to secure the correct cube and assign slot locations for all new items.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and assign locations to all inbound pallets without locations through BFC Dakota reports/slot information. Utilize tools provided (Slot Info/BFC Dakota).
- Slot all items based on cube movement (replenishment frequency), weight and physical characteristics of items.
- Confer with merchandising on items with questions as to continued movement frequency before moving slot locations.
- Coordinate with day shift supervisors to physically move product.
- Perform an empty slot audit for the cooler, freezer and dry locations every week.
- Meet with day and night warehouse managers weekly to bring them up-to-date on current slotting information and to discuss improvements.
- Transfer product stock to different slot locations and put UPC labels on the product where appropriate.
- Arrange settings for date sensitive items, bulk pulls, minimum quantity and any other settings needed.
- Recommend changes in rack layout and flow rack to improve efficiency.
- Monitor slow-moving items and work with Merchandising to remove them if feasible.
- Advise and communicate with management and merchandisers on packaging issues.
- Perform cycle counting, relabeling of pick slots and handling of overstocks (Xmas area).
- Review purchase orders for items that need to be slotted before the product coming into the facility.
- Assist in product recalls as needed.
- Serve as a product recall coordinator.
- Adhere to all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP), personal hygiene, and safe quality food (SQF) policies and procedures as described in the European imports - Sysco food safety training manual.
QUALIFICATION
Education
- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is required.
Experience
- 1 - 2 years of previous warehousing experience is required.
Professional Skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required.
Physical Demand
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. is required.
Working Conditions
- Work in an environment with various temperatures.
Supervision Received
- General supervision is received from the inventory control manager or warehouse manager.
Supervision Exercised
- Oversee and assign work to receivers, forklifts, and clerks.
