- Collaborative Development: Work closely with OpenJDK development teams to design and implement functional and non-functional tests.
- Test Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive test plans and execute test cases to ensure OpenJDK products meet quality standards and requirements.
- Automation Integration: Implement and integrate test automation into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline testing processes and enhance efficiency.
- Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated experience in problem-solving with the ability to tackle complex issues and find effective solutions.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver quality functions for development teams supporting test-driven development frameworks and ensuring rigorous quality standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Experience and working knowledge of different test methodologies - from unit tests to integration to functional to performance to regression.
- Understand the scope of testing e.g. what makes a good and bad test. Be able to read a set of existing tests and spot holes in coverage or other blind spots that a test suite has. Relate test cases to project requirements.
- Worked with standard development tools such as git CI/CD code coverage etc - and understand what these tools are for and why they are a necessary part of testing.
- Experience writing tests from scratch in at least one programming language (Java or Go especially useful). Implement these tests as part of an existing tooling pipeline.
- Operate in a Linux / Unix environment including being comfortable using the command line interface.
- Familiarity with cloud and container technologies including Docker Podman Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
