Title:

Software Systems Engineer

KBR, in support of our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team, has an immediate need for a Software Systems Engineer with hardware (HW) & software (SW) development, maintenance, and process experience, for space and ground systems. We are looking for innovative and motivated individuals to support the strategic planning and tactical execution of secure SW/HW, cybersecurity integration, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) activities. Candidate will provide system security engineering (SSE) and integration expertise in support of the Space Systems Command (SSC) MW & EM mission area. Candidate will support cyber/SWA requirements development, system verification, and concepts of operations (CONOPS) development for all MW & EM systems.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform Software Assurance (SWA) functions including application scanning and integration into secured processing infrastructure environment per Cybersecurity process & guidelines
• Support Cybersecurity/SWA certification & accreditation processing and documentation preparation
• Support software & hardware requirement allocation & analysis for space & ground systems
• Develop software development & integration schedules, supporting enterprise planning
• Support the cybersecurity/SWA architecture design to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover from cyber-attack
• Support Systems Security Engineering (SSE), integration services, technical assessments, and solutions to enable cybersecurity and DCO
• Develop and briefing data packages that provide analysis results to inform the government decision-makers

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science or Engineering and 5+ years of software development and SWA
• Active Secret Clearance
• SAIC has a requirement to be compliant to DoD 8570.01M, the successful candidate will require a Comp TIA Security + certification within six (6) months of start date
• Experience in defining, developing, implementing Cyber or Software Assurance solutions for Space Force, or Department of Defense systems and networks
• Experience working across space and ground segment organizations to coordinate and identify system requirements that ensure end-to-end mission performance requirements are met

Desired Qualifications:

• SBIRS, OPIR and SBEM Mission experience is highly desirable
• Experience working in an Agile team/framework
• Familiarity with cloud-based systems, operating systems, databases, networking, firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) and host-based IDS and IPS

Salary range is 110K - 125K The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
