Job Description
The spot welder joins metal parts using a tool that generates intense heat. A welder can also polish and smooth out metal surfaces they weld together. They will use either a computer to remotely control equipment or hand-held equipment to cut or join metal parts, fill a hole or fix seams in metal.
Duties/Responsibilities.

Reviewing blueprints
β’ Managing machines that manufacture and repair metal structures, tools, and equipment
β’ Planning layouts and measurements
β’ Testing welded surfaces
β’ Joining metal parts using intense heat
β’ Polishing and smoothing out metal surfaces
β’ Using either computer-controlled or hand-held equipment to cut or join metal parts, fill holes, or fix seams.
β’ Any other duty as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
β’ Proven experience as a Welder with a minimum of three (3) years in the manufacturing industry.
β’ Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, squares, calipers etc.).
β’ A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach.
β’ Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift heavy materials up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
Education/Experience Required:
β’
A high school diploma or equivalent is essential; however, vocational or technical training in welding is highly preferred.
β’ Hands-on experience in welding from previous jobs or apprenticeships can be crucial, even for entry-level positions.
β’ Understanding safety protocols, and possession of safety certifications such as OSHA 10/30-hour training can be advantageous.
β’ Continued education and certification renewal are often required to keep up with evolving welding technologies and methods.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods bending, standing, stooping, bending and working while welding various metal pieces.
β’ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at times.
