We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Business Operations team. Our team prioritizes a balance of helping others through guidance and assistance, and performing analytical and data oriented work in our day to day. 

In this role you will both own Payroll & Benefits administration while working closely with our Controller to perform various Accounting operations. You will have the opportunity to continue to take on more complex aspects of accounting as you and the Company grow. Your day to day will be a balance of employee support through payroll, benefits and administration and getting to go heads down in complex reconciliation and analysis work. What You'll Do: 

Payroll & Benefits Administration 

  • Own all aspects of payroll administration including: 
    • Prepare and run semi-monthly payroll including all change management activities such as new hires, terminations, benefit changes, bonus & commission payouts and more
    • Post changes in pay and tax status, and voluntary deductions in payroll system and payroll worksheet
    • Prepare semi-monthly payroll calculations
  • Prepare ad hoc and monthly reports as needed
  • Provide administrative support for all benefits management including: 
    • Educate and enroll new hires and current employees during life events
    • Monthly benefit invoice reconciliation and posting
    • Support during annual Open Enrollment
  • Create accurate and timely documentation including employee facing education, financial audits and more
  • Be the outward-facing representative of payroll to the broader company; actively engage with employees to help them understand payroll nuances; partner with HR to ensure alignment with both departments.
  • Assist employees, managers/supervisors in the use of ADP
  • Support in New Hire Onboarding administration

Accounting

  • Reconciliation of various General Ledger accounts, including creating reconciliation schedules in Excel, and preparation and posting of Journal Entries.
  • Substantiate transactions and account balances by auditing source documents
  • Assist in the development of efficient accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely financial statements
  • Assist in performing complex bank reconciliations on a daily/monthly process
  • Provide information and aid the annual audit process
  • Learn and support AR, AP, Fixed Asset, and other accounting functions
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable balances and aging. Make calls to customers regarding late payments. Prepare recommendations to management regarding the collectability of accounts. Process approved write-offs.
  • Process Accounts Payable
  • Assist in managing the Sales Tax process
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required

Information Technology

  • Provide general equipment support for all employees including new hire equipment ordering
  • Become an expert on all business operations technology including Sapling, ADP Workforce Now, Slack, Google Suite and Zoom

What You'll Have

While we strive to hire for potential, given the critical nature of this role and the work required, the ideal candidate for this role will likely come from a similar environment where they have owned both payroll & benefits administration and accounting responsibilities.  

  • 4+ years of direct experience in a similar role a plus
  • Broad experience across both payroll and month end close
  • Core competencies of success are:

  • Experience with ADP WFN preferred
  • Experience with QBO and Excel a plus

The salary range for this role is $75,000-$85,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years & depth of experience, and some role dependent factors that can include certifications and software expertise. We also hope you’ll consider and be open to what else we provide outside of our base compensation.
