Title: Accounting Associate
Department: Corporate Operations – Accounting & Finance
Reports to: Accounting Manager

Location: Seattle, Boulder, Madison
FLSA Status: Exempt
Pay: $75,000-$90,000 (depending on candidate background and experience) + generous benefits (including six weeks of PTO)
Summary Description or Position Objective:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for a variety of tasks within the Accounting and Finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash collection, maintaining financial records and general ledger, as well as other general bookkeeping duties. This role is vital to help keep our day-to-day accounting functions running smoothly and is responsible for projecting a professional company image and excellent internal/external customer relations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform payroll cycle through third-party software, including updating necessary employee information for payroll-related items.
- Assist with payroll state compliance for employees.
- Complete paid-time off compliance reports with state and local agencies.
- Monitor/review timesheets for completeness in weekly integration upload to Intacct.
- Accounts receivable – Enter accounts receivable invoices, as directed, for project sales and apply cash payment as necessary.
- Reconcile monthly credit card activity and ensue all supporting documentation stored in credit card system.
- Perform full cycle accounts payable for corporate payables – Manage incoming vendor invoices and appropriate internal approval, enter vendor invoices into accounting system in an accurate and timely manner, accurately code expenses, respond to invoice and payment inquiries both internal and external, file invoices electronically, set up new vendors as they arise and ensure all appropriate tax information obtained and entered into the accounting system.
- Post electronic cash transactions daily.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for various accounts during month-end close.
- Post general journal entries related to various accounts.
- General special projects for accounting and finance department
- Ensure company accounting and finance policies and procedures are adhered to in day-to-day practice.
- Providing accounting and clerical assistance to the accounting and finance department.

- Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proven ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the organizational capacity to manage multiple projects/tasks with competing deadlines.
- Detailed understanding of project cost accounting.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Proven ability to input and deliver efficient, timely, reliable data and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Must be self-motivated, enjoy a team-oriented approach to work, and enjoy taking ownership of and delivering on data-driven administrative functions.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience performing accounts payable and accounting functions in a professional work environment.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully complete tasks with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Dedication to data entry accuracy and consistency.
- High proficiency in Office 365 skills, particularly in Excel, required.
- Proficiency in ERP system such as Sage Intacct or NetSuite preferred.
- Experience with general project management tools is highly desired.
- Experience in development or construction project cost accounting is helpful, but not required
- Must demonstrate a high degree of time management and organizational skills resulting in the ability to prioritize/manage multiple projects at various stages of delivery.
- Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and fiduciary responsibility.
