We are currently searching for a Systems Engineer to join our Mission Platform Systems team in Salt Lake City, UT. We are seeking individuals that have excellent technical and leadership qualities that will be utilized to support R&D (Research and Design) programs around our tactical communication solutions.

A successful candidate will perform all life cycle phases beginning with concept proposal through project planning, requirements capture, design, development, integration, test, installation, support, and sustainment. Key responsibilities include requirements creation and management, familiarity with military standards with a basic level of expertise in performing integration and testing in both lab and field environments, and technical collaboration with other disciplines. Candidates will be expected to perform tasks of moderate complexity under the guidance of more senior peers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Authoring technical reports evaluating new technologies, capabilities, components, and concepts of operation.
• Interfacing with customers to conduct requirements and design reviews, host technical interchange meetings, and conduct acceptance test demonstrations.
• Decomposing customer statements of work into system, sub-system, and software requirements.
• Developing evaluation criteria and verification plans against system requirements.
• Creating system architectures and designs and presenting solutions to other members of the team.
• Installing new hardware in an integration and test environment that simulates the real-world system.
• Performing on-site installation and acceptance testing at customer facilities.
• Conducts technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and other analyses.
• Collects data and performs standard analysis of data, identifying findings as appropriate.
• Conducts engineering processes using standard work, including verification and qualification procedures.
• Seeks to identify possible problems presented in applicable projects that may cause a delay or exceed budget. Contributes to finding appropriate solutions.
• Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
• Considers and evaluates alternatives accounting for similar metrics.
• Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Performs architectural exploration.
• Decomposes customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and generates verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
  
  Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree preferred.
