Job Summary:

As the Talent Cycle Manager you will play a critical role bringing this objective to life for employees at all stages of their career. In this role, you will design, enhance, and lead the talent cycle process including goal setting, performance and potential assessment and calibration at both the individual and organizational level to ultimately drive Markel's success.
You will have to opportunity to collaborate with HR Business Partners, leaders, and employees around the globe to ensure that our talent processes are equitable, consistent, drive Markel's business objectives, and enhance the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will display a strong balance of functional expertise, consulting, and influencing to arrive at optimal process and system solutions.
As the manager of the talent cycle, your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading the design, development and implementation of Markel's annual performance and talent cycle programs
- Designing training resources to enable managers and employees to successfully execute talent cycle activities
- Partnering with Talent Analytics team to develop hypothesis and identify key insights to inform talent cycle strategy, reporting and enhancements
- Collaborating with business leaders and HR Business Partners to launch succession planning programs across the company; maintain scenario planning as it relates to succession plans
- Serving as the Talent Cycle subject matter expert and main point of contact for HR Business Partners, managers, and employees
- Working closely with the Compensation, Talent Development, HR Operations, and IT teams to successfully implement talent cycle processes
- Ensuring a consistent talent cycle experience is provided across all global business areas
- Leveraging talent cycle outputs, partner with Talent Development to consult with business leaders to create development plans for high potential leaders and identified successors to include executive coaching and 360 assessment processes
- Partnering with HR Business Partners on organizational design and change management as it relates to succession planning and talent development
- Developing strong business relationships by being a credible, trusted, and responsive advisor
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years progressive experience designing and implementing talent programs and processes for a dynamic global company
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred
- Proven track record of successfully leading the delivery of people projects with a focus on diversity, inclusion and talent development
- Demonstrated experience influencing and advising multiple stakeholders leveraging strong facilitation and data insight skills

- Ability to manage multiple streams of activity in a dynamic work environment
- Self-starter with a proactive, enthusiastic and "hands-on" approach
- Broad understanding of HR data analytics and HR reporting, including compilation of reports to executive committees
- Solid understanding of operating in a dynamic, global, multi-disciplined business environment to implement programs that bring about behavioural change
- Proven experience of working across different levels, internationally, with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to leverage these relationships for shared success
- Experience managing external suppliers and partners, as needed
