Tech Lead – Mobile App Developer

Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role you’ll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centres (Delivery Centres) where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centres offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

As a Multiplatform Mobile App Developer you will design develop and deploy cross-platform mobile applications for various devices and operating systems. You will work collaboratively with the geographically dispersed development team to create high-quality user-friendly and scalable applications that meet the needs of our clients.

You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to deliver integrated releases that meet our business objectives.

Your roles & responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms with experience working with Xamarin / .NET Multi-platform App UI (MAUI).
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement user-friendly designs.
• Collaborate with others to identify and progress improvements in software delivery and support a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure application performance quality and responsiveness.
• Identify and resolve application bottlenecks and bugs.
• Integrate mobile applications with back-end services via RESTful APIs.
• Test debug update and improve software to ensure quality security and value.
• Provide technical advice to solve problems
• Stay up-to-date with new technology trends in mobile development.
• Oversee technical activities of development including design development and implementation of system changes.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to less experienced team members to improve technical capability of the team. This includes guiding team members with troubleshooting and problem solving
• Please note that you will be required to work on-site with our Melbourne CBD client up to 3 days a week for this role (Candidate location can be anywhere in Regional Victoria but not Melbourne Metro)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a lead mobile application development role with at least 3 years experience focusing on .NET/MAUI Xamarin.Forms and Xamarin.Native.
• Strong knowledge of C# and MAUI/.NET framework.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to less experienced team members to improve technical capability of the team. This includes guiding team members with troubleshooting and problem solving
• Proficiency in building cross-platform applications for iOS and Android using Xamarin with experience in mobile application lifecycle (concept design test release and support)
• Due to client requirements you must have Australian Citizenship to be eligible for this role.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• At least Australian Baseline Security Clearance (or eligible for Baseline)
• Experience working with government agencies is a plus
• Experience with cloud message APIs and usage of push notifications.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) for mobile applications.
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
• Experience in working with agile methodologies.
• UI/UX Design Sensibility: Understanding of basic principles of user interface and user experience design.
