Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Technical Enablement Specialist understands client needs and the competitive landscape applies technical expertise and business insight to improve our customers’ technical capabilities to increase their business value and drive IBM revenue.
Key responsibilities include assisting with development and delivery of hands-on labs and demo assets delivering technology enablement workshops providing product demonstrations technical education and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new-to-market offerings in IBM Z. The Technical Enablement Specialist will also collaborate with customers to adopt new IBM hardware and software improve resiliency and availability assist in critical technical situations and present at both customer and industry conferences. Additionally the role involves providing technical expertise to support the IBM Sales team ensuring the success of presales engagements and helping to advance sales opportunities.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of agile methodologies
- Customer-facing technical engagement experience
- Applied Linux or Unix system administration expertise
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Aptitude to learn and apply new technologies and tools quickly
- Highly self-motivated and resourceful
- Technical presentation skills
- Completed course work/projects in programming in Java or scripting languages such as Javascript Python Bash
- Basic understanding of Red Hat Linux Docker and Kubernetes Containerization and Databases
- Experience with programming techniques porting migration and test activities expertise
- Foundational IBM Z knowledge including architecture subsystems and value proposition
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Applied knowledge of z/OS Systems Programing
- Applied knowledge of z/OS subsystems CICS IMS or DB2
- CI/CD Tools: Git GitHub Travis CI Jenkins Artifactory
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Information Management or Computer Engineering
