Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike. 

Tecovas is looking for an experienced Visual Merchandising Coordinator to help bring our unique brand aesthetic to life in our retail stores. Reporting directly to the Visual Merchandising Manager, you will help create visual merchandising direction and ensure proper execution through consistent communication for our 25+ retail stores and growing! With Tecovas plans for continued store expansion, you will assist in execution of new store set up both physically and digitally, ensuring store teams are trained and ready to provide a consistent visual experience for our customers. As a new brand to physical retail, this role is part of a very small team and the willingness to jump in and take on challenges will be important to the success of the person in this role.  

This position is based out of Austin, TX but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.

What you’ll do:

  • Continuously create and update content library of Visual Merchandising materials including, but not limited to; visual standards guides, remerchandising guides, visual directives, and training documents. 
  • Develop Visual Merchandising directives aligned with Tecovas' brand standards, as well as business and product goals. 
  • Assist in the development of new approaches to visual presentation.
  • Work with the Visual Merchandising Manager on design, strategy and selection of Fixtures and Furniture. 
  • Ensure Visual Merchandising standards are met in unique store environments by providing creative solutions and direction. 
  • Foster a culture of learning with the store teams. Develop a feedback loop that encourages open dialogue and ultimately an amazing customer experience.
  • Frequently review all store photos and provide written and verbal feedback. 
  • Travel to New Store Openings to assist in store set up and team training.
  • Inspire and motivate others by living the Tecovas values. 
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience we’re looking for:

  • 1-2 years proven VM experience, applicable degree or in store experience preferred 
  • Clear understanding of retail merchandising, customer service principles, and consumer shopping behavior. 
  • Proven ability to use technology to create documents: i.e.  - training content, VM directives, communication standards, etc. 
  • Proficient in adobe creative suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. 
  • Working knowledge of IWD or similar programs is a plus.
  • Quick learner with new software programs.  
  • Travel required up to 50% of your time via cars, hotels, planes..
