Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Solution Engineer you’ll work closely with clients and the account team to define technology solutions including system-level architectures and technology services that meet the client’s business goals. In this role you are essential to the evaluation of the business needs and defining solutions with IBM technology and services that leverage and fit in with the client’s software hardware and infrastructure. A successful Solution Engineer will look for repeatable architecture patterns automation and assets to be deployed at scale to optimize each client engagement.

End-to-End Technical Guidance: Providing end-to-end technical guidance to lead discovery discussions with prospective clients assess architecture needs for projects work with the client and sellers to create and guide the delivery teams during implementation
Contribute to Enterprise Architecture Decision Making: Creating and socializing development and testing best practices coding standards framework usage code review tools and processes. Contribute to the creation of governing principles and information management repository to guide enterprise architecture decision making.
Team Enablement and Documentation: Documenting and enabling team members on solutions that include software configuration systems architectures and related sizing in complex and first-of-a-kind hybrid-cloud solutions including phases such as design development integration migration production support and development operations.
Building Successful Relationships: Being a trusted advisor at all levels – from engineers to CIOs – with experience of navigating challenging debate to reach healthy resolutions.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Security Solution Skills: Skills and knowledge for building creditability and service orientation with client stakeholders aligned to security solutions including for security modernization data security identity and access management end point security and threat protection.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Expert Level Security Software Skills: Requires an expert technical level in security software technologies including QRadar Resilient Guardium IAM MaaS360 and Cloud Pak for Security or equivalent enterprise solutions.
Cloud Consulting Experience: Experience working in consulting of solutions including SaaS / IaaS / PaaS and/or Cloud.
