Learn more about this agency Duties You will provide oversight and analysis of all Fleet Technical Assistance You will be responsible for assigning jobs and managing the workload of technicians via Fleet Technical Support (FTS) for technical support and repair of forward deployed US naval vessels. You will provide detailed analysis and management review of business reports and metrics to include evaluating trends, assessments and action plans on surface ship maintenance and repair operations, programs and organizations. You will provide clear, concise technical instructions to ensure maintenance is planned, executed, completed and documented. You will perform supervisory and management functions including prioritizing and assigning work, providing technical review and guidance, approving leave requests, developing performance plans and rating performance of subordinates. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location. May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230: http://www.esd.whs.mil/Portals/54/Documents/DD/issuances/140025/140025v1230.pdf Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Using Technical Assistance, Assessments and Scheduling (TAAS) for processing of 2Kilo's and shipboard automated work Request for Fleet Tech Assist Supports for ship repair programs, processes and procedures. Tracking of Casualty Reports and using of logistics programs to track parts to prioritize according to tasking and mission requirements during high operation tempo Performing qualitative and quantitative analysis of data matrix programs to determine workloads, manpower distribution, and performance of support provided from the headquarters element to the area of responsibility; and Using various computer operations and applications to prepare information for presentation to senior leadership.
