Faculty position employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine, practicing in UT
Health East Texas facilities. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a
dynamic Inpatient Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician to join and lead our expanding
rehabilitation team at the 49-bed UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center in Tyler, TX. This is a
unique opportunity to join as Medical Director, or to step into a leadership-track role with support
to grow into the Medical Director of our inpatient rehab program. Knowledge of compliance and
regulations surrounding inpatient rehabilitation is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a
collegial growth mindset and the ability to provide high-quality and compassionate care to complex
patients. About Your Work: 1.0 Full-Time Join an experienced team that includes 1 nurse
practitioner, physical therapists, nurses, support staff 80% Clinical/20% Administrative
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. (or flexible schedule) Call: 7 days/month that includes 1

Rehabilitation Center: UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 49-bed inpatient
hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic
fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care
available. About UT Tyler School of Medicine:The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is
the first medical school in East Texas and the seventh in The University of Texas System. Its
mission is to train future healthcare professionals to embrace responsibility for the unique needs
of rural and hard-to-reach communities and populations, particularly those in East Texas. The
school offers a robust Graduate Medical Education program, with 20 residency and fellowship training
programs, enabling graduates to gain specialized skills in areas such as family medicine, internal
medicine, neurology, psychiatry, surgery, and anesthesia. Additionally, UT Tyler’s Master of
Biotechnology program provides students with an interdisciplinary curriculum that emphasizes medical
research and biotechnology innovation, preparing them for careers in medical research, diagnostics,
and therapeutic development. Construction is currently underway on a five-story,
248,000-square-foot Medical Education Building (MEB) in Tyler’s Midtown District. Connected by a
skybridge to UT Health Tyler, the MEB will support interdisciplinary education for medical students
