Duties
Serves as a Supervisory Health System Specialist, with responsibilities to analyze and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and functions.
Provides command staff with qualitative and quantitative information from which the most cost-effective, efficient, and highest quality healthcare services can be implemented.
Coordinates with other medical care facilities to exchange information on operations, problems encountered, and possible solutions to fully explore and consider alternatives in improving appointment operations.
Collects weekly statistics, assembles this data and conducts periodic briefings at the request of the Deputy Commander for Administration.
Oversees the overall civilian human capital resources of the MTF.
Individual is responsible for all documentation necessary for manpower and force structure management.
Incumbent exercises supervision over the daily activities of full-time staff of civilian employees assigned to assist in carrying out the functions of the division.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing medical program operations, collaborating with medical care facilities and leadership for operations improvement, and monitoring facility performance and preparing reports.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
