The primary purpose of this position is to provide professional clinical social work or marriage and family therapy services in support of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP).

Duties
Designs, develops, maintains, implements, and evaluates clinical service for installation Family Advocacy Program (FAP).
Responsible for case management activities occurring from initial referral and treatment, through case closure or transfer.
Provides professional advisory services and training to other health care professionals, legal and investigative agencies, and other helping agencies, advancing initiatives that enhance resiliency and decreases maltreatment in military families, and communities.
Risk and Clinical Assessment: Works independently as a licensed clinical provider and uses advanced concepts, principles, procedures, practices, professional knowledge and sound judgment executing the clinical component of the FAP IAW program requirements and accepted standards of professional conduct.
Crisis Intervention. Independently performs crisis intervention services to ensure the safety of, and prevent further harm to, victims of family maltreatment. Appropriately triages and provides necessary clinical services to ensure the protection and safety of victims and families.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled and classified to the series represented by the candidate that meets the qualifications of one of the listed series listed on the cover page.
At a minimum, qualification requirements stipulated by OPM for the 0185 occupational series must be met.
Social Worker: Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the SO states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice marriage and family therapy independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
Qualifications
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
1. This position has been identified as having "regular contact with children". IAW Public Law 101-647 Section 231, and Public Law 102-190, Section 1094. A FBI fingerprint and State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check will be completed on any person selected for this position.
2. Must have the following minimum qualifications IAW DOD directives:
(a) In order to meet Military Treatment Facility (MTF) credentialing and privileging competency requirements, must have two years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse as an independent licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Must maintain independent active clinical privileges for the duration of employment.
(b) Government civilian providers must meet all applicable credentialing requirements IAW MTF guidelines and be fully qualified to perform within the scope of their practice.
(c) Must possess and maintain Basic life Support (BLS) certification.
(d) In order to meet MTF credentialing and privileging currency requirements, must have actively practiced as an independent Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist within the past two years
3. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
4. As a condition of employment, the employee shall meet all Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Employee Occupational Health and Safety standards prior to start of work at the MTF. As a condition of employment, the employee shall meet all Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Employee Occupational Health and Safety standards prior to start and throughout working at the MTF. Initial and periodic tests/immunizations required for all employees include Tuberculin Skin Test (TST/PPD), Varicella (chicken pox), measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B, Seasonal Influenza, tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis (Tdap).ln addition to these requirements, each employee will stay up to date on their vaccinations throughout their employment with the Medical Facility in accordance with AFl44-108, Infection Prevention and Control Program and the CDC guidelines (Immunization of Health-Care Personnel, Recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, 2011).
5. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
6. Employee must adhere to established MTF customer service standards of performance and demonstrate specific behaviors that all employees are expected to practice while on duty.

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Social Science Series 0101:
Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Social Work Series 0185:
Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is experience in a variety of social services, social work or marriage and family therapy practices, principles, and theories, including but not limited to clinical case work, community outreach programs, family and children protection services, and family violence prevention theory and practice, dynamics, and indicators.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Professional knowledge of a variety of social services, social work or marriage and family therapy practices, principles, and theories, including but not limited to clinical case work, community outreach programs, family and children protection services, and family violence prevention theory and practice, dynamics, and indicators.
Knowledge of the organization, management, and administration of child and family prevention and outreach services.
Knowledge of complex helping systems, professions, and organizations; how they affect child and family welfare; and the multiple uses of such systems, professions, and organizations to deliver services.
Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of their concerns and/or issues; providing professional assistance to clients; and determining appropriate referral services and/or options.
Ability to apply professional diagnostic skills to individuals and families, and to plan and organize, establish treatment plans, set priorities, and meet suspenses.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to work well with others in a team approach.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
