Summary
About the Position: Ice Harbor Project is a multi-purpose hydropower project, with missions that include operation and maintenance of the facility for flood control, hydroelectric power generation with six main generating units, navigation locks, fish facility with two fish ladders, recreation and natural resources management. Recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, boating and camping are abundantly available to enthusiasts.

Duties
Serves as a Security Assistant for the Multipurpose Hydroelectric Facilities under the Walla Walla (NWW) District Corps of Engineers.
Responsible for applying security process and procedures for a facility located throughout the NWW footprint with emphasis on and not limited to, access control, camera monitoring, security systems, and key control.
Monitors and controls the access points for a multipurpose hydroelectric facility and the associated access control devices.
Uses automation equipment and software to prepare and provide digital access control badges for the facility, its visitors, and employees.
Assists in monitoring the facilities Electronic Security System (ESS). This includes, but is not limited to cameras, alarmed zones, and access points.
Conducts and documents Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs) as directed by the Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers Security Office.
Assists in providing access for local emergency responders in the event of an emergency at the facility.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing clerical support to an organization by maintaining records/rosters, using databases on a computer, and/or answering/directing visitors to appropriate office OR experience that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.

Education

One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct Deposit of Pay is required.

Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
