Summary PLEASE NOTE: Based on the current hiring restrictions, selectees may be subject to additional approvals prior to an offer being extended. The incumbent is a Maintenance Mechanic er in the Adminstative Facilities Services Division of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer Bureau of Fiscal Service. The primary purpose of the position is to perform a variety of facilities maintenance related duties in a helper capacity. Learn more about this agency Duties As a Maintenance Mechanic er, you will: Assist Maintenance Mechanics in performing various electrical and related services. Assist Maintenance Mechanics in performing various facilities maintenance and construction services. Requirements Conditions of employment All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period. During this time, your performance, conduct, and suitability for continued employment will be evaluated. You will not automatically convert to permanent status at the end of the probationary (or trial) period. Your supervisor must affirmatively determine that continued employment is in the best interest of the Federal service. Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Additional Requirements: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: The employee must be physically fit as this position can be physically demanding. Assignments may involve considerable standing, walking, bending, climbing, and squatting, as well as pushing pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) and at times working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Occasionally, the incumbent is required to lift or move with assistance moderately heavy objects weighing more than 75 pounds.
