This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Learn more about this agency Duties Ensures medical devices—from basic clinical tools to advanced imaging systems—are properly inspected, repaired, and kept compliant with quality and safety standards. Develop, update, and oversee quality assurance processes, internal audits, ISO compliance, and inspection readiness across the medical facility. Analyze failures, reviews recalls and safety notices, coordinates corrective actions, and documents findings to protect patient and staff safety. Tracks equipment readiness, evaluates replacement needs, reviews maintenance records, and provides technical input during acquisition of new medical systems. Assist with property accountability, verifies database accuracy, inspects user compliance, and ensures equipment records and classifications are correct. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. A Personnel Security Investigation is required. Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption. A pre-placement medical examination is required. Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. FOR GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; assisting with biomedical equipment management by supporting maintenance activities such as; performing basic quality assurance reviews, monitoring safety alerts or recalls, and helping maintain maintenance documentation for compliance and safe clinical operations. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Procurement/Contract Management, Procurement Financial Management or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages FOR GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes; includes independently performing biomedical equipment program functions such as troubleshooting medical devices, conducting quality reviews, evaluating equipment issues or recalls and overseeing maintenance documentation to ensure patient safety compliance. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Procurement/Contract Management, Procurement Financial Management or Business Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
