Duties
You will develop, review, and implement safety policies and curriculum based on higher-level naval instructions (e.g., OPNAVINST 1500.75 series).
You will conduct formal inspections, audits, and surveillance of training programs to ensure compliance with safety and instructional standards.
You will act as an authoritative consultant and subject matter expert to senior leadership on all matters related to high-risk training safety and program management.
You will plan, schedule, and conduct on-site assessments and technical assistance visits.
You will conduct inspections on helicopter rope suspension training, military static-line and free-fall parachute operations, close quarters combat training and combatant craft and maritime operations.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and
maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to
travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you
fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
You will be subject to polygraph examination on a recurring basis.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Possessing extensive Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience, experience in SOF-specific equipment and capabilities; Serving as a training and safety manager with direct oversight of multiple high-risk training courses (e.g., live-fire ranges, aviation, explosive ordnance disposal, diving); Applying Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Risk Control System principles to identify and mitigate hazards in a high-risk training environment.
