Summary This position is located in Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection Consumer and Community Affairs Branch and is responsible for fostering ongoing communication between banks and community-based organizations (CBOs), research and analysis, education, and the management of assigned projects. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement. Completion of Confidential Financial Disclosure may be required. Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) required. Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify for the CG-09: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-07 level in the federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in supporting programs and activities relating to financial education, community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations. OR  EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-09 level.  To qualify for the CG-11: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-09 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing or implementing financial education or other consumer protection programs relating to community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations. OR EDUCATION: To qualify based on education; applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M., if related. OR COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG-11 level.  To qualify for the CG-12:  Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CG-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience leading the development and implementation of financial education or other consumer protection programs relating to community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) consumer regulations, and/or fair lending and consumer protection laws and regulations with community-based organizations, academia, government officials, and/or financial institutions.  There is no substitution of education at the CG-12 level.   Applicants eligible for ICTAP (Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program) must achieve a score of 80 or higher in the online assessment to be determined “well qualified” for this position.
