Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Scott AFB Outdoor Recreation. This is a Flexible position 0 - 40 hours per week Duties Prepares recreation areas for scheduled activities; records attendance; takes reservations and payment for programs; notifies participants of scheduled changes. Checks equipment before rental and upon return for discrepancies, i.e., torn or frayed material, defective parts, etc., makes necessary adjustments for replacing minor parts when necessary and reports all major repairs needed to supervisor/maintenance team. Accomplishes completed walk around checklists for all rental items such as boats, campers, etc., before and after rental. Maintains the facility in a neat and orderly manner, keeping display items clean and dusted. Assists with group activities/trips, which require more than one staff member to monitor; cleans facilities, POV resale lot, FAMCAMP, RV storage lot, Picnic Pavilions, and Archery Range. Operates cash register, maintains a change fund, completed required cashier reports/deposits, and rings fees/makes reservations. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent must pass a pre-employment drug test and is subject to random drug testing. Must possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and be able to drive. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical and be able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds. Qualifying Experience: No experience is required. Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules and procedures is preferred. Ability to safeguard and handle cash and skill in the use and maintenance of various recreation equipment and facilities are desirable. Working knowledge of computer programs, i.e., Microsoft Office, and typing skills are desirable. Must possess skill in dealing with public. Education This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
