Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused staff hospitalist to join our inpatient care team in
Rutherfordton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care to
hospitalized patients while collaborating closely with nursing staff, specialists, case management,
and hospital leadership.This opportunity offers a supportive team environment, balanced scheduling,
and the chance to practice comprehensive inpatient medicine in a close-knit community setting.Key
Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patientsPerform admissions,
daily rounding, consultations, and dischargesManage acute and chronic conditions in collaboration
with specialistsParticipate in multidisciplinary rounds and coordinate care plansEnsure timely
documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)Adhere to evidence-based guidelines and hospital
protocolsSupport initiatives aimed at reducing length of stay and readmissionsParticipate in quality
improvement and patient safety programsMaintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation
standardsCommunicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans,
and discharge planningCollaborate with primary care providers to ensure smooth transitions of
careWork closely with case management and social services to optimize discharge outcomesHospitalists
at Rutherford Regional enjoy traditional 7 on/7 off block scheduling and reasonable patient census
consistent with community hospital standards. Qualifications:MD or DO degree from an accredited
medical schoolBoard certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicineEligible for
or currently holding an unrestricted North Carolina medical licenseStrong clinical judgment and
