Forward Networks is currently looking for a talented Accounting Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day General Ledger transactions and overall financial statement close process. Participates in formulating and maintaining the Company’s accounting policies, plans and practices. Ensures that all financial data is accurate and prepared in compliance with internal and external standards and generally accepted accounting principles. Maintains an appropriate internal control environment. Prepares and presents reports and findings to Head of Finance and others, as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Executes the entire monthly financial statement close process and ensures it is established and maintained, and that all related deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Helps in the development and implementation of effective accounting strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains an accounting system/process which guarantees the timely and accurate presentation of financial results in accordance with accounting and regulatory policies and practices.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains systems and processes related to customer billings, accounts payable, general ledger, fixed assets, equity, commissions, etc.
  • Responsible for payments to vendors and routine funding of the Company’s international subsidiary.
  • Prepares reports, which summarize the Company’s business activities and financial position in areas of income, expense, earnings, cash flows, and non-GAAP KPIs (i.e., ARR, NDR, Bookings, etc.).
  • Coordinates activities associated with external auditors, investors, and bankers, as appropriate.
  • Maintains, updating, monitoring and adherence to corporate policies and procedures, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets and capital expenditures, travel expense, etc.
  • Coordinates the schedule and communications of the annual audits that are completed by the independent accounting firm.
  • Establishes and maintains effective business relations with vendors, outside auditors, regulators, investors, and bankers.
  • Participates in the recruitment, training, and development of qualified professional employees. Communicates job expectations and fosters a collaborative climate. Provides guidance and mentoring for staff.

Required Education and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field; CPA (highly preferred).
  • A minimum of seven (7) years with progressively responsible experience in accounting management is required with a minimum of three plus (3+) years of experience in public accounting.
  • Five (5+) years executing, leading or overseeing the financial statement close process (startup experience) preferred.
  • Extensive experience with NetSuite (required).
  • General experience with, external audits, technical accounting (ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 340), FP&A/budgeting/forecasting, sales tax, etc.
  • Proficient in Excel (required).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (SalesForce.com is a plus).
  • Track record of working in a fast-paced tech (SaaS) company. (industry experience is preferred).
  • Works effectively across company functions (sales, research and development, people, marketing, etc.) as well as within finance.
  • Understanding of related auditing and IT functions and broad-based knowledge of the entrepreneurial business environment required.
  • Prior experience implementing, or migrating to an ERP, and in designing, developing, and implementing financial systems, is a positive.

Expected compensation for this position is between $120,000 - $145,000 depending on experience and location
