Job Description
Billtrust is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the execution of our daily accounting operations and close cycles (US and international), internal reporting initiatives, assisting with financial and statutory audits, technical accounting research, and overseeing our accounts payable function.
You would report directly to the Assistant Controller and will be a key influencer as Billtrust advances our processes and continues to grow into a multi-national, high growth company. You will have the opportunity to be hands-on, developing best in class policies and processes to reduce the accounting team’s close timeline and improve the accounts payable operating function.
- Responsible for driving the month-end close process, which includes preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany activity, equity, and ad-hoc analysis while adhering to tight deadlines.
- Oversee a team of general ledger accountants and accounts payable specialists. Provide coaching, training, and guidance as well as career mentorship on an ongoing basis.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and company policies and procedures, including SOX requirements. Lead the team through standardizing reconciliations and documentation.
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for improvement within the internal reporting process and close cycles and drive continuous improvement by building scalable, repeatable processes and policies.
- Provide technical accounting support by researching relevant FASB guidance and GAAP disclosures, and assisting the VP, Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller with related accounting analyses supporting the company’s positions.
- Collaborate with Accounting Leadership and other cross-functional teams to develop and maintain best in class processes surrounding various aspects of the business cycle.
- Oversee audit processes, preparing internal and external audit schedules as needed and liaising with auditors.
- Assist FP&A team with budgeting, forecasting, budget to actual reporting processes.
- Take on additional accounting responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as the role advances and the company scales.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline with 7+ years of experience.
- Strong preference for candidates who have a combination of ‘Big 4’ public audit and industry experience, especially with global
- SaaS based companies with revenue exceeding $250 million annually.
- CPA license.
- Currently in an Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager role.
- Prior management experience required, including a strong track record of building and managing successful teams, and an ability to manage and motivate team members in a changing environment.
- Maintain an unquestioned level of integrity, confidentiality, and quality.
- Skilled at working in a collaborative and fast-moving environment.
- Experience with reading and interpreting FASB (or related) accounting guidance, and presenting preliminary findings to Accounting Leadership.
- ERP experience required, Sage Intacct and/or FloQast experience a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and effective decision-making skills.
- Well-honed written and verbal communication skills combined with an approachable and collaborative attitude.
Base Compensation: $108,000 - $137,000 (bonus offered in addition to base compensation)
Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate and is provided pursuant to Equal Pay Laws. Billtrust intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
