Accounts Payable Specialist, #579
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a clearance if required; must be able to successfully complete a background investigation prior to start date.Â
Dev Technology Group, Inc. is looking for a strong accountant with a focus on Accounts Payable to join an all-star accounting team. This is a temp to hire opportunity, ideal for Accountants looking to re-enter the workforce. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to grow in their accounting career. This position will be provided with Dev Technology specific to Dev's accounting systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have previously worked in government contracting environments and have government contract accounting system experience. This position will join a fully staffed team of accounting professionals and work closely with the Dev's Assistant Controller, Controller and Business Operations Team. This individual will support all accounts payable functions in the organization as well as cross train in accounts receivable.Â
 What You’ll Be Doing:
- Receive, process, and keep track of all payments, expenditures, and disbursements, including credit cards, invoices, statements, etc.
- Reconcile and analyze monthly credit card statements
- Set up and maintain vendors and subcontractors in the accounting system. Includes maintaining vendor records such as W-9 and ACH authorization forms
- Manage payment processing to vendors by scheduling ACH payments and check runs on regular basis
- Generally respond to all vendor inquiries regarding finance aspects. Includes monitoring and managing accounts payable inbox and (electronic and physical)
- Ensure that all invoices are reviewed and processed with a high level of accuracy
- Verify expense report compliance with FAR and internal policies; prepare file to send to payroll for employee expense reimbursement processing
- Prepares and reconciles accruals related to role
- Assist the Assistant Controller with the close process, including investigating discrepancies in the trending income statement
- Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts such as accrued subcontractor labor, accrued expenses, and prepaid expenses
- Collaborate with and provide training to other departments to improve expense report and purchase order processes
- Track, calculate, and file monthly Sales & Use Tax
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:Â
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required
- Minimum of 2 years accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Exposure to or experience with government contract accountingÂ
- Ability to navigate Microsoft Office suite with strong Excel skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow up on pending issues
- Ability to meet deadlines
- The ability to work well in teams and independently
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:Â
- Unanet Financials or similar platform experience
- Enthusiasm for collaborating
