This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Advertising Law Corporate Counsel based in India.

This is a high-impact legal role supporting fast-moving global marketing and advertising operations across digital, performance, and outbound communication channels. You will act as a key legal advisor to marketing, product, and commercial teams, ensuring campaigns are both innovative and compliant across multiple jurisdictions. The role covers a broad spectrum of advertising law, including consumer messaging, promotions, media, affiliate marketing, and ad tech initiatives. You will help enable growth by providing practical, risk-calibrated legal guidance that balances speed with compliance. A strong focus is placed on building scalable frameworks, playbooks, and approval processes to support global marketing at scale. This is a collaborative, cross-functional environment where your legal expertise directly shapes customer-facing experiences and business growth.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide legal support for global marketing and advertising initiatives, ensuring campaigns, offers, and customer-facing experiences are compliant and risk-assessed.
  • Review and advise on outbound communications across email, SMS, voice, push notifications, paid media, affiliate, lifecycle marketing, and conversion funnels.
  • Assess legal requirements for launching campaigns in new markets, including consent, opt-in/opt-out, disclosures, localization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support performance marketing, ad tech, and media solutions by advising on data usage, targeting, campaign delivery, measurement, and publisher relationships.
  • Review and approve marketing materials including landing pages, ad copy, promotional content, claims, pricing, and disclosures.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate marketing-related agreements such as influencer contracts, agency agreements, sponsorships, affiliate deals, and vendor SOWs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Privacy, and Commercial Legal to evaluate risks and enable new campaigns and customer journeys.
  • Develop scalable legal frameworks including playbooks, workflows, templates, and training materials to support global marketing operations.
  • Identify recurring legal risks and process inefficiencies, and contribute to building long-term solutions that improve speed and consistency.
  • Requirements:

    • 6+ years of legal experience supporting marketing, advertising, commercial contracts, digital products, or consumer-facing businesses.
    • Qualified legal professional in India, with additional exposure to common law or international legal frameworks considered a plus.
    • Strong expertise in advertising law, consumer communications, and risk assessment in fast-paced business environments.
    • Proven ability to translate legal risk into practical, business-friendly guidance that enables growth.
    • Experience reviewing marketing and advertising content across digital channels and performance marketing ecosystems.
    • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, particularly for marketing, vendor, influencer, and partnership agreements.
    • Ability to build scalable legal processes, playbooks, and frameworks that support operational efficiency.
    • Excellent communication skills with experience working across global, cross-functional teams.
    • Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and comfort operating in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
