Job Description
BAE Systems North Charleston based Automated Fuel System Integration (AFSI) Team is looking for a talented Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer that can help our team analyze design build and test large scale fuel control systems for the Department of Defense. Duties include:
- Responsible for the preparation of equipment lists instrument index loop sheets I/O lists
- Ensures that production of drawings specifications reports and analysis meet scope schedule cost and quality requirements
- Ensure design documents adhere to applicable governing codes (NEC NFPA ISA UFC etc.).
- Participates in reviews of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Participates in Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to consider safety aspects to equipment personnel public and environment
- Meets with plant technical staff to discuss technical information and features
- Prepares sketches and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project
- Prepares equipment specifications inquiry (RFQ) and purchase requisitions for approval
- Evaluates vendor bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications
- Communicates equipment design to project personnel and other disciplines
- Participates in preparation of design guides guide specifications and contract proposals including basis of estimate (BOE) and statement of work (SOW)
- Develops Electrical Area Classification (EAC) documents for instrumentation installations in hazardous areas
- Participates in project integration/testing activities and field assignments as required; can include equipment inspections at vendor facilities
- May participate with construction personnel concerning constructability issues as related to field conditions sequencing and scheduling of installation activities
Required Education Experience & Skills
Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical or Systems Engineering discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an engineering position. Applicant must possess a basic understanding of the systems engineering process and be able to translate requirements into design and realize them through testing for electronics based systems.
- Experience in the design of PLC or DCS based control systems
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code requirements for industrial facilities and hazardous locations
- Strong MS Office 365 expertise
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Education Experience & Skills
- Experience with Fuel distribution or control systems.
- Experience in Agile methodology
- Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Model Based Systems Engineering
- Experience using AutoCAD and the AutoDesk suite of tools.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $77814 - $132283
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to: business considerations local market conditions and internal equity as well as candidate qualifications such as skills education and experience.
