Amazon Career Choice Data Analytics: Teaching Assistant

SUMMARY

TAs play a critical role in teaching ~25 - 30 learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One’s virtual Data Analytics training program. The TA commitment for our programs will be for the duration of seventeen (17) weeks. TAs will be expected to support synchronous sessions as well as provide asynchronous support to Fellows to ensure their comprehension and learning.

We review applications on a rolling basis and expect to make all hiring decisions by December 7th 2022. Please note that applications and roles are filled on a first come first serve basis.

DESCRIPTION

• The Data Analytics 5.0 (United Kingdom) program will be held over the course of 17 weeks, from January 14th, 2023 to May 13th, 2023. 
• The Data Analytics 6.0 (United States and Canada) program will be held over the course of 17 weeks, from January 28th, 2023 to May 27th, 2023.
• TA's are expected to support ~25-30 learners in their learning as they work toward completion of the program.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Onboarding (Pre-Program):

We will host 1-2 live onboarding sessions, where we will walk through the program elements, set you up on our systems, and ensure that you are prepared to support our Amazon learners effectively before the program launches on January 14th, 2023 (United Kingdom Program) or January 28th, 2023 (United States and Canada Program). We will provide training materials in advance of, during, and after these onboarding sessions, which will be important for you to ensure your understanding of this content and your responsibilities.

Mandatory Onboarding (Pre-Program Dates) 

• Wednesday, December 14th from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET 
• Wednesday, January 11th from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm ET 

Management and Support (During Program): 

• Join us for our program launches, which will take place on the first day of the program, where you will introduce yourself to learners. 
• Attend classes, for the program of interest as listed below:  
  • Data Analytics 5.0 (United Kingdom)
  • Full Time TA (New and Returning)
  • Tuesdays from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm ET
  • Saturdays from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm ET
  • Part Time TA (New and Returning) 
  • Saturdays from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm ET
    
  • Data Analytics 6.0 (United States and Canada)
  • Full Time TA (New and Returning)
    • Tuesdays from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm ET
    • Saturdays from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm ET
  • Part Time TA (New and Returning) 
    • Saturdays from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm ET

• Join us for the TA Weekly Meeting (1 hour each week)
• Provide 4 hours for Full-Time TA’s and 2 hours for Part-Time TA’s  of open office hour sessions for learners each week. You may set these hours within our parameters, for your convenience.
• Support in Grading Fellow’s deliverables (3 hours for Full-Time TAs each week and 2 hours for Part-Time TAs each week)
• Work with fellow instructors/TAs and our team on ways to improve learner experience (Note: you will be paired with a fellow TA to support a cohort of learners) 

REQUIREMENTS

• Data Analytics professional with exceptional leadership and organizational skills
• Empathy, flexibility, patience; passion for working with diverse learners who are new to content
• Prior teaching experience at any level is a plus
• Experience as a teaching assistant or participant in any of our programs is a plus

This position is accessible for those with other professional responsibilities, including full-time jobs, provided you can commit to regular synchronous support for live class sessions. We require a minimum of 1 weeks’ notice for any planned absences from live sessions or periods when Trainers are not available (i.e., scheduled vacations, other work commitments, etc.); we will communicate more specific expectations for this during the onboarding process.
