What is Marketplace

Marketplace is a digital investment platform built for Addepar clients that offers a professionally curated menu of investment opportunities and solutions across private markets. The platform was created in partnership with clients to address pain points they have identified around navigating the complexity of private markets.

Marketplace is powered by a dedicated in-house team of investment professionals that leverage Addepar’s reach and scale to uncover investment opportunities and best-in-class solutions providers. Marketplace professionals act as an extension of our clients’ teams - bringing Addepar’s scale to bear by providing consistent access to private market investment opportunities and supporting Addepar’s mission of improving investor outcomes.

Offerings include:
  • Direct access to top-tier fund managers across a wide range of strategies, including private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate, and more.
  • Source and facilitate bespoke venture-backed private company transactions
  • Liquidity solutions for privately-traded securities and fund holdings
  • Partnerships with best-in-class product solutions providers across the industry, including cash, digital assets, and more
The Role

Our Marketplace team is looking for a proven team player who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces ambiguity, and enjoys the challenge of contributing to a new venture within an existing high-growth company!

In this role, you will partner with the Marketplace team to empower our clients to navigate the private markets, driving outcomes through client engagement, teamwork, and successful execution of client transactions.

Addepar takes a market-based approach to pay. A successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on the role, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base salary for roles in Colorado, California, and New York.

The current range for this role is $73,000 - $137,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with senior members of the Marketplace team to execute on fund placement mandates across multiple strategies, including but not limited to Private Equity, Credit, Venture and Real Assets, as well as GP-led co investments for our clients on the Marketplace platform
  • Assist the deal team in across all facets of a fundraise mandate: including roadshow coordination, preparing and updating marketing materials, building out and managing target lists, and working with all relevant collaborators to get the product into the platform.
  • Manage client relationships across outreach, messaging, and internal CRM to drive transactions to meet and exceed concrete targets for both activities (client outreach, meetings, etc) and results (client usage, transactions, and revenues)
  • Work with Compliance and Operations to process and monitor transactions, as well as update marketing materials, ensuring client and financial partner satisfaction
  • Collaborate with client coverage teams to facilitate the creation of collateral, including factsheets, slide decks, status updates, and internal support documents, including quarterly thought pieces and monthly offering documents
  • Document operational knowledge, issues, processes, and standard methodologies to improve internal efficiencies
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses
  • 2+ years of applicable experience in investment banking, capital markets, alternatives/fund placements, or the secondary markets. This can be from an investment bank/brokerage firm, FinTech, and/or related institution
  • Familiarity with sourcing, diligence, structuring, and selling sophisticated alternative strategies.
  • Understanding of the private placements, including regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to embrace ambiguity and excel in a start-up environment
  • Active listening skills and tactfulness to ask probing questions, understand stakeholder concerns, and overcome objections
  • Ability to independently initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
  • A genuine passion for supporting team members and clients
  • Existing client relationships in the RIA, family office, and/or institutional investor space are a plus
