Ardent is seeking an Application Programmer I to join our team. Â
This is a remote role.
The Application Programmer I is in direct support to a DHS client seeking development support in adding enhancements to an existing web-based financial system. The Application Programmer I role will support the dev team lead and other developers with .NET development and production deployment. This role requires experience with Agile methodologies, and demonstrated experience in the .NET stack.
Responsibilities:
- Working with other developers to assist in translating functional requirements into technical solutions for application development;
- Writing, editing content and coordinating updates to existing websites;
- Ensuring projects are developed with professional level standards for site performance, usability, scalability, browser compatibility and reliability;
- Reviewing designs and maintaining compliance with application, infrastructure, architecture and security;
- Implement required logic, algorithms and code for the application;
- Working with users during integration testing to identify errors, fix coding errors, and implement requested changes;
- Reviewing logical data models (entity relationship, business process, and process flow;
- Building physical data models (conversion of logical models in relational database models);
- Working with database administrators to coordinate necessary changes to the database structure;
- Utilizing Agile methodologies to ensure applications are functioning properly before production deployment;
- Working with Information Security Systems Officer (ISSO) and the Application Development Team or System Admin to mitigate security findings;
- Participating in or presenting to the Change Control Board (CCB) as needed
- Providing status reports of bi-weekly or monthly accomplishments;
- Coordinating with the Operations Team and the Enterprise to perform mission systems maintenance during Government scheduled maintenance windows.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience leading a technical team to develop and deploy enterprise applications
- Fast-paced project where rapid prototyping is used to zero in on what the stakeholders need.
- Extensive experience with:
- Visual Studio
- SQL Server 2019
- C#
- .NET MVC
- LINQ
- Layout frameworks such as Bootstrap or Material Design
- jQuery
- JavaScript
- Version control systems (e.g. git)
- Windows Collaboration Foundation (WCF) Data Services
- AJAX for ASP.NET
- Web Service integration / remote computing services (e.g. Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with:
- UI development tools such as Telerik or Kendo UI
- Unobtrusive Validation (MVC Client Validation, Data Annotations) or comparable
- OOP/OOD:
- Must have familiarity with standard N-tier design patterns and principles and be able to describe when/why to use them, e.g. trade-offs.
- Experience working with versioning repository systems such as ,Microsoft TFS/GIT, and good knowledge of continuous integration process.
- Agile methodology (SCRUM or Kanban).
- Familiarity with creating and understanding complex SQL queries
- Familiarity with database design, data modeling concepts, and experience with data migrations.
- Understanding of testing tools and testing methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Certification in Web application development or similar training desired: MCTS, MCPD, etc.
