The Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in coordinating project activities, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations are aligned from planning through execution. Working closely with Project Managers and cross-functional teams, this position helps maintain project visibility, mitigate risks, and ensure smooth execution across multiple workstreams. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, requiring strong organization, communication, and analytical skills. It is well suited for someone who enjoys structured project work while contributing directly to infrastructure that supports connectivity across communities.

Accountabilities:

  • Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing fiber network design and outside plant (OSP) projects across their full lifecycle, from initiation to close-out.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication of deliverables, requirements, schedules, and project status.
  • Assist in developing project plans, tracking milestones, monitoring timelines, and identifying potential risks or at-risk tasks.
  • Prepare project documentation including agendas, meeting notes, summaries, estimates, invoices, and progress reports.
  • Analyze project-related data to support decision-making and ensure alignment with scope, cost, and scheduling objectives.
  • Coordinate day-to-day project tasks and ensure follow-up on action items across multiple stakeholders.
  • Support Project Managers in scope management, project controls, scheduling, and implementation activities.
  • Contribute to reporting on project performance, completion status, and overall delivery health.
  • Perform additional administrative and coordination tasks as required to support successful project execution.
  • Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in project management, engineering, or related fields is a plus.
    • 3+ years of experience in outside plant (OSP) fiber design, fiber expansion projects, or related telecommunications infrastructure work.
    • Familiarity with fiber network concepts such as FTTH, FTTX, and related design and deployment processes.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with experience supporting project lifecycle activities in a structured environment.
    • Ability to analyze data, track project performance, and support reporting and documentation activities.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across technical and non-technical teams.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with occasional evening, weekend work, and travel requirements.
    • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the United States.
    • Ability to meet physical requirements related to fieldwork, including walking, driving, and occasional exposure to outdoor job sites.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary aligned with experience and qualifications
      • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans, with employer-supported premiums
      • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions
      • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
      • No-cost or low-cost healthcare plan option for employees
      • Professional development, training, and licensing support programs
      • Hybrid of field-based and remote flexibility depending on project needs
      • Supportive team environment within a well-established engineering and design organization
