The Collins Aerospace Product Cybersecurity Office engineering team is looking for an Associate Director, reporting to the Collins Product Cybersecurity Officer, to lead an engineering team responsible for growing the Collins product cybersecurity development processes, tools and capabilities. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in leadership, project management, embedded system security technologies, influencing others and helping to grow the cybersecurity engineering skills and culture.
This is a key leadership role within the Product Cybersecurity Office that will interface with executive management, engineering leadership, digital technologies leadership and cybersecurity engineering subject matter experts.
Responsibilities include developing cybersecurity strategic plans and roadmaps and managing execution of security capabilities that will be deployed across products in the strategic business units. Additional responsibilities include hiring, training and leading a small team of system security engineers that can support the business' in performing security risk assessments, capturing security requirements, assessing architectures and supporting implementation of the secure system development lifecycle through the pursuit, development, delivery and sustainment of products and system solutions.
This role can be performed in a remote manner, with a possible future transition to a hybrid manner. Potential hybrid locations would include Windsor Locks CT or Cedar Rapids IA.
Travel and on-site meetings must be supported as required, both domestic and international, as well as occasional meetings with direct report employees.
This individual can sit at any Collins Aerospace domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and grow a team of security engineers in the development and deployment of security capabilities, processes and tools
- Help coordinate and grow cybersecurity engineering training and material, as well as cyber-related training for other cross-functional disciplines
- Provide systems security engineering leadership and technical project management for security capabilities projects
- Knowledge in the areas of Earned Value Management (EVM), Change Management, and Risk Management (RM), and ensuring project activities are completed on schedule and on budget.
- Support cybersecurity focused industry committees and working groups
- Help identify synergies and provide security leadership across other cross-functional teams, such as Digital Technologies, Operations, Supply Chain and Legal.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
- Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of previous management experience
- Project Management & Agile processes & tools: Microsoft Project, Power Point & Exec; Requirements tools, such as JAMA, JIRA or Polarian and ALM Tool Suite;
- Breadth in systems security engineering and software engineering principles and applying a defense-in-depth / layered security architecture approach.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

- Work effectively in highly collaborative environments, a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and lead technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as customers and executive leadership.
