Associate Editor, Newsletters

Forbes is looking for a talented and passionate Associate Editor to assist with production and execution of our fast-growing newsletter portfolio, ranging from the Daily and Careers to the latest in crypto and blockchain and digital privacy. Successful candidates must be experienced in digital news products, analytics and audience development and have a conversational, concise writing and editing style. This role requires a combination of newsroom instincts, business acumen as well as the ability to handle data quickly and accurately, and is for someone who wants to own and build our portfolio’s vision, strategy and user engagement. Reports up to the Senior Editor, Newsletters.
Responsibilities

• Assist with managing Forbes’ growing portfolio of editorial newsletters (approximately two dozen) and email alerts, including proofreading and production within newsletter CMS
• Help launch a new suite of educational newsletters and serve as editorial lead for its success as a top-of-funnel product
• Work across departments and teams on special newsletter editions, cross-promotion, onboarding and outreach emails
• Gather data and analytics to help guide content decisions
• Take a forward-thinking approach on testing new approaches to content, churn-reduction and fostering reader loyalty. 
• Stay on top of new digital products and trends, with a focus on email newsletters

Requirements

• Candidate should have at least 5 years experience working in an innovative and busy newsroom, copy-editing experience strongly preferred
• Have the mind of a journalist and excited about audience-facing products and tool
• Demonstrated experience and interest in creating content for newsletters that aligns with reader needs
• Able to identify and write compelling subject lines and newsletter copy to drive strong engagement
• Proactive problem-solver who is eager to work on a new team
• Familiarity with A/B testing and editorial experimentation to achieve desired results
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and matrixed organization
• Highly adaptable and quick to learn processes

The annual base salary range for this role is $70,000 - $85,000
