As a Business Analyst in our Professional Services team you will be responsible for leading and driving the business analysis and configuration efforts for complex projects. You will collaborate with project sponsors stakeholders project managers and technical teams to elicit analyze document and implement business requirements ensuring alignment with project objectives and organizational goals for our MGA Systems product. You will be the primary resource responsible for successful implementation including configuration training and go-live on your assigned projects.

The Professional Services (PS) and Customer Success (CX) bonus plans are a quarterly monetary bonus plan based upon individual and practice performance against specific business metrics. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date good standing in the company and actives status at time of payout.
The Vertafore Incentive Plan (VIP) is an annual monetary bonus for eligible employees based on both individual and company performance. Eligibility is determined by several factors including: start date good standing in the company and actives status at time of payout.
Commission plans are tailored to each sales role but common components include quota MBO's and ABPMs. Salespeople receive their formal compensation plan within 30 days of hire.

- Lead the business analysis efforts for complex projects including requirement gathering analysis documentation and implementation of business needs functional and non-functional specifications use cases and process flows.
- Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure a thorough understanding of business objectives and technical solutions aligning them with overarching PS goals.
- Facilitate workshops interviews and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements resolve conflicts and drive consensus.
- Participate in project planning scoping calls and estimation activities providing valuable insights and contributing to project scope definition which can include writing statements of work (SOWs).
- Excellent relationship-building skills to effectively collaborate with partners across all levels of the organization to understand their business challenges and opportunities.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality deliverables including clear and concise business documents reports and presentations.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations for optimizing project delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development quality IT as well as other project/program managers to ensure successful implementation of projects.
- Proactively identify and address project issues risks and dependencies to mitigate potential challenges and ensure project success.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
- Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among project team members and stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide other business analysts providing support feedback and sharing best practices to enhance their skills and performance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends best practices and emerging technologies related to business analysis and software development.
- Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced software development environment.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- MS Office Applications
- Working knowledge of backend development systems
- Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset
- Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment
- Solid expertise in requirement gathering techniques documentation standards and business analysis tools
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
- 3-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a software development or IT environment
- Proven experience leading complex business analysis initiatives and driving successful project outcomes
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification preferred
- Experience with industry-specific software or tools used in business analysis preferred
- Knowledge of insurance industry-specific standards and regulations preferred
- Experience in facilitating workshops and conducting user interviews preferred
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g. PMBOK) preferred
Additional Requirements and Details:
- Travel required up to 10% of the time.
- Ability to work remote with a stable internet connection on an as needed basis.
- Located and working from an office location (when required).
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer etc.).
