Job Description
The Business Architect is accountable for leading business design activities across health plan capabilities, identifying opportunities and facilitating execution of process and technology improvements. Working closely with the Manager, Business Architecture, the incumbent visions with segment leadership and participates in core business architecture model development and maintenance; blueprinting activities including strategy, value stream, and capability mapping and assessments; identifying, defining, and planning business initiatives; as well as developing and overseeing multi-year business roadmaps.
Key Capabilities:
- Lead business design activities with cross-functional teams
- Collaborate and advise business and technology leadership and teams on new capabilities to support the organization and possible areas of improvement
- In concert with business area leadership, develop business cases, impact assessments and supporting financial analysis
- Participate in multi-year business and program roadmap activities
- Maintain a strong knowledge of organizational, technical strategies and current business operations
Qualifications:
- Complete working knowledge and skill with ability to be fully proficient in professional field.
- Bachelor's degree (Business or health related field), or equivalent work experience in related field
- 5 years of work experience beyond degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with health plan capabilities, processes and systems
Specific types of experience or skills required:
- Demonstrated business architecture experience and success
- Holistic, big-picture, conceptual, and innovative thinking
- Experience with the BIZBOK framework and approach to Business Architecture
- Demonstrated understanding of payer/health plan operations
- Experience strategizing and communicating with C-suite roles
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships across the enterprise
- Experience with standard management processes, controls and tools
- Demonstrated ability to influence decisions and maintain courage for doing what is best for customers and the business
- Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication
- Collaborative leadership approach and strong business acumen. Able to effectively translate technology considerations into business-speak and business-speak into technology considerations
- Demonstrated strength in conflict management and negotiation
