This role offers the opportunity to drive sustainable growth by expanding the circular economy within industrial sectors. The Business Developer – Recycling will identify and cultivate new recycling opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and support operational execution of material recovery initiatives. You will work across technical, commercial, and operational interfaces to develop profitable and environmentally impactful solutions. This position combines analytical rigor with entrepreneurial problem-solving, allowing you to influence both strategy and execution. The successful candidate will track performance, forecast growth, and promote the value of recycling to customers and stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone passionate about sustainability, circularity, and industrial recycling innovation.

Accountabilities:

Identify, evaluate, and pursue new recycling opportunities across industrial sectors such as steel, cement, and non-ferrous materials.

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, demolition companies, customers, and partners to secure recyclable materials.

Develop business cases, commercial models, and profitability analyses to support recycling initiatives.

Lead negotiations and support contract development for material supply and recycling agreements.

Collaborate with operations, procurement, EHS, and logistics teams to ensure feasibility of recycling programs and address operational or quality barriers.

Partner with sales and account teams to expand participation among strategic customers, providing presentations, audits, and on-site assessments.

Track material volumes, financial performance, and environmental impact (e.g., CO₂ savings) in alignment with sustainability targets.

Monitor regional regulations, environmental standards, and incentives to ensure compliance and optimize recycling initiatives.

Requirements:

Candidates should have:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, Supply Chain, or related field preferred).

2–5 years of experience in business development, commercial sales, recycling, waste management, or industrial sectors.

Analytical and financial modeling skills to evaluate commercial opportunities.

Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects across regions.

Knowledge of recycling processes, circular economy principles, or environmental compliance preferred.

Technical aptitude for material characterization or industrial operations a plus.
