Job Description

Tomorrow's Government Business Development Team makes it possible for national hydrometeorological services, state and municipal agencies, civil aviation, defense organizations, and others to operate and manage risk faster than the speed of weather. 

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager covering Africa and potentially additional regions to lead prospective and existing customers through a journey to improve their service provision and raise their profile by using our SaaS and/or API products, and to help build the biggest weather company in the world (we are the fastest growing!). You will be joining a strong team already serving this region. 

While this role is fully remote, we’re seeking to hire for this role in or near the African region itself, so you must be located strategically.  

As a Business Development Manager at Tomorrow.io, you’ll identify, engage and close new customers while working with the Account Management team to retain and grow existing accounts. You will also work closely with our product, marketing, and program management teams to provide feedback to help drive messaging. 

What you bring:

  • Government Sales Experience: Minimum 5 years selling to national government high-level stakeholders and technical end-users, hands-on experience with public tenders and contracting
  • Experience working in industries such as agricultural, hydrology, meteorology, and/or climate science
  • Background of engagement with international development and finance institutions 
  • International channel partner management experience 
  • Solution-based selling and strategic government relations work
  • Experience selling disruptive, first-to-market tech (SaaS, IoT, new space or API-based) would be an advantage
  • Experience working in fast-paced start-up organizations
  • Energy: Self-motivated and competitive, can-do attitude, go to the customer
  • A clear record of quota achievement and metrics-driven approach to prospecting and managing pipeline through to a successful close
  • Fluency in English; French is a strong plus
