Position Summary
The Business Development Representative at Effectual maintains existing and creates new strategic business partnerships. They drive new revenue sources for Effectual. Responsibilities include expanding the company’s business across different verticals and geographies, helping build customer relationships, and assisting the Chief Growth Officer in maximizing the sales and operational performance of the company.

They continuously explore the market and develop strategic relationships aimed at diversifying into new geographical areas, service/product diversification, and new market segments. Successful Business Development Representatives understand the market landscape, predict changing customer needs and drive development of offerings to meet those needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Develop and nurture relationships with various key strategic individuals, key industry players, and strategic partners and industry organizations.
- Maintain and grow existing strategic partnerships
- Identify, develop and then manage new high potential partnerships and go-to-market initiatives
- Interface directly with prospective and current, customers and partners to collect feedback on market changes that can be addressed by Effectual, ideally with first-mover advantage
- Document existing sales and marketing activities and identify areas for optimization or the creation of new avenues to market
- Collaborate with Marketing to gauge potential impact of marketing campaigns, proposed event hosting/attendance and/or implement and measure targeted marketing campaigns to test Go-To-Market hypotheses
- Conduct market research and analysis that support business cases and provide data points in favor of pursuing specific strategies
- Assist in optimizing and developing metric collections (sales, quality, etc.) that enable leadership in analyzing and understanding key performance indicators thus producing business value
- Create market awareness about Effectual products and services as well as generate potential leads by representing Effectual at conferences, showcases, seminars, etc.
- Develop and execute a sales plan for strategic partners to achieve quarterly and annual sales quota set forth by the company
- Continuously scan the market to learn about new product offerings, technologies, services, and industry developments.
- Ability to travel (US and abroad) required; may be extensive at times.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of industry experience in high technology marketing, sales and/or business development.
- Experience with solution sales cycles with various product offerings required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to speak to individuals, small groups and large audiences
- Superior negotiating skills
- Strong leadership and managerial skills
- Reliable problem-solving ability
- High level of organizational skills while maintaining the ability to see the big picture
- Ability to thrive under pressure
- Ability to travel (US and abroad) required; may be extensive at times.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Experience in Public Cloud Industry and/or Technical Skills combined with business acumen may be preferred
- One or more cloud certifications (e.g.: AWS Certified Practitioner)
